Helicopter Night Flying Rating

This rating allows you to experience the exhilaration and beauty of night flight. This rating requires ten hours of night flying practical instruction, ground theory is included in the package. On completion of the flight training, a night flight test will be conducted by the chief flight instructor.

Helicopter External load (Sling) Rating

This rating allows you to carry external loads beneath the helicopter, it improves your flying skill and you learn the basics in load preparation and positioning the load in a designated target area. This rating requires a minimum of  three hours flight instruction.

Helicopter Type Endorsements

On completion of your license with Newcastle Helicopters you will be endorsed to fly the Robinson R22 helicopter, you may then continue a further three hours of flight training and gain an endorsement on the Robinson R44.

Our turbine engine helicopters are also available for endorsement training, on your First Turbine helicopter endorsement you will be required to complete Five hours of flight training. Any subsequent Turbine Aircraft type endorsements will require three hours of further flight training, on that type of aircraft.

As the change from piston engine to turbine engine requires a higher degree of engine management from the pilot, we include a comprehensive theory and practical knowledge course for the turbine engine.
